We are located between 4th & 5th streets on Linden ave.

Directly in front of the parlor are several free 1 hour spots.

Farther down on Linden, as well as on 4th & 5th street, are many free 2 hour parking spots.

There is also a pay-to-park CTA lot right on 4th street. This lot is $4/day. Please always check the signs carefully wherever you choose to park.

Trains: Third Coast Mahjong is a half-block west of the Linden CTA stop (the very last stop on the Purple line).

For Beginner Mahjong players we recommend signing up for a Mahj 101 class, followed by a Mahj 102 class and then at least one Guided play session. In total, you are investing in 7 hours of learning/playing across 3 classes.

Taking these lessons as close together as possible (ideally no more than a week apart) enhances your understanding and enjoyment of the learning/playing process!

At Third Coast Mahjong we provide everything you need to successfully learn American-style Mahjong.

All lessons are taught in our comfortable and inviting private Ginkgo Room.

You’ll have access to our beginner-friendly Mahjong tiles, the current year’s National Mah Jongg League card, our customized teaching materials, plus complimentary snacks and beverages.

We limit classes to 6 people, to ensure you receive the attention you need.

Your Open Play seat must be booked in advance to ensure there are enough players at your level (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced) to join you at a table.

Please bring your own NMJL card; we have a limited number of loaner cards on hand.

No need to bring tiles, mats or racks, we have everything you need to sit down and start playing.

Complimentary snacks and beverages are always available. 

Let us know 48 hours or more in advance if you won’t be able to make your Mahj 101, Mahj 102 or Guided Play session, and we will do our best to reschedule you for another day or give you a full refund.

If you notify us within the 48 hour window, no refunds are given.

For Open Play cancellations, we request you notify us 24 hours or more in advance. We can either transfer your registration to another Open Play session, or issue you a full refund.

If you notify us within the 24 hour window, no refunds are given.

Let us know 72 hours or more in advance of the first night of League play if you won’t be able to participate in the entire 4-week League series.

We will do our best to reschedule you for another upcoming League or give you a full refund.

If you notify us within the 72 hour window that you cannot participate in the entire 4-week League series, no refunds are given.

We’ve all been there!

Please let us know ASAP if you are sending in a Sub for your spot in the League. You will receive 100% of the points your Sub earns.

If you need help finding a Sub, we require 48-hours notice.

We’re always looking for Subs to fill in for Beginner and Intermediate League play.
